willard
and betty thiessen
Willard and Betty met at university where Willard studied electrical
engineering and Betty focused on psychology and music. They soon married
and had children, and Willard worked as a marketing engineer for Bristol
Aerospace.
In
1969, Betty struggled with depression and reached out to God for deliverance.
The Lord responded: baptizing her in the Holy Spirit and setting her
free. Soon Willard also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and,
together, they found their passion for outreach growing.
Eventually,
Willard
left his job to move into Christian television; and, in 1976, he and
Betty went on air with It’s a New Day. Continuing on
in their dream for Christian television in Canada, they pioneered the
station NOWTV BC in September 2001. Currently,
Willard and Betty co-host It's a New Day, manage New Day Ministries,
and interact with viewers whenever they can.
